Last Saturday night, I went to the night market with my sister. We went to the Lehua Night Market near my home. The Lehua Night Market is in Yunghe, and is my favorite market. We went find our mother’s day present for Mom first. And then, we shopped for our own things. In the night market, it seems every thing is so cheap that my sister and I bought a lot of things. Also, the food there is delicious and inexpensive. We had our dinner there happily. Actually, I seldom chat with my sister since I attended senior high school, but this time I chatted with her like real friends. I was a little surprised about it for the first time.

The Lehua Night Market is not as big as other night markets, but it still crowded with people all the time. Maybe is because of its nice location, Yunghe. In fact, Yunghe is small, but it is crammed with an amazing amount of people. On the other hand, the Lehua Night Market is near the MRT station, it has convenient community. Furthermore, it’s so famous that it is more than 30 years old! It is famous for the various kinds of foods. There’re so many traveling magazines or newspapers write posts about them.

Since I was born in Yunghe and grown up in Yunghe, my house is near the Lehua Night Market. I went to the Lehua Night Market very often. Since my sister and I were still young, our parents took us there very often, especially in summer. It’s a wonderful thing to take a walk in summer night. Every time we were on the way to the night market, I always felt excited! Even though I shopped in the Lehua Night Market for so many times, I never get tired of it. The Lehua Night Market is my favorite night market.

About the article – It Began With Books   by John Wood

John Wood worked in Microsoft one of the most famous company before. He worked for about seven years. In 1998, John went to the Himalayas, and visited the local school there. He found that, there are many children have no books, no chairs or tables, because of poverty. Contrast with himself, he was born in a well-fixed family and had well education. He just thought that to help the children is more important than to work in the Microsoft.

He quite the job and tried hard to gather many books for those children. Successfully, he did gathered 3000 books in the beginning. And when he saw the children were so eager for books. That was the motivation for him to dedicate his life to help the poor children have access to books. Then he raced a foundation, called “Room to Read” to gather money and built schools, libraries for the children in the developing world.

Here’s the web link of the Room to Read: http://www.roomtoread.org/index.html

I know that there are so many children have little chance to go to school, and I did consider the problem since I knew how important to have knowledge. Actually, I think to do such a thing needs a lot of money and time. From the situation of mine it is impossible. There are some people in Taiwan do such things. Maybe they go to the faraway regions to teach the children, to gather seconded books for them. But, it is just a small part of Taiwanese. With the rising rate of unemployment in Taiwan, many people think that it is more important to care for themselves.

To quit the high salary job or to do something important for oneself it depends on one’s values. In my opinion, John Wood had worked hard for several years and had earned enough money he had the ability to do anything he considered meaningful.

I think it’s important for one to find what the most important thing is in one’s life. I know there are so many things important such as friends, love, family, health… besides that I hope I could find out something else that worth me to spend all my life on. John Wood has found out. I wish I could get it someday.

Today is Saturday, only I myself at home. At 9AM, my cousin's child came to my house, because he wanted to waite for his grandpa and grandma to pick him up, his house is nobody home. So, I have to take care of him for a momemt. His name is A-zhe, and is about 6 years old. He's going to attend elementary school this autumn.

He is a cute little boy I think. He likes cars very much. And he knows almost every brand of cars, even some of them that I don’t know. Also, he can recognize any brands of car in a little far distance, even in the night. It’s amazing for a 6-year-old child to do that I think.

When he arrived my house, he said that he wanted to play computer games, so I turned on the computer and googled several websites with many online little games. Because He is still so young, and not intelligent enough, there are few games that he could play by himself. And even he asked me to accompany with him. Ha ha, I'm not so good at playing computer games. But, in the end I tried.

As a good aunt, I prepared some snakes and a cup of cocoa drink for him, but he seems not so interested in them. He preferred the computer games better. Well, that's okay. The snakes could be my breakfast as well. I think that taking care of children is not an easy thing, especially the very young children. Actually, in the beginning I thought that if A-zhe played the computer games then I'll have no business. In the end, I found that I was wrong, totally wrong. Moreover, A-zhe is a good child, he never makes me angry. Instead, he is cute and funny. I like him very much.

I know that many people dispose on children playing computer games. In my opinion, that is not so bad as if children aren't addicted to it. Sometimes, the computer games could make children conceptive, because children don't know many words. They see the pictures to figure out what happen and how to use it. I think that, many children are addicted to play computer games is that they continue to play one game, they tried to overcome levels and levels, so they need more and more time on playing the same games. If children just take a glance and play for a moment on one game and then change another game. And then they think that it is just for fun, they won’t addict to it. But how to teach children the right attitude on playing computer games is a big problem.

After reading the news – Two-legged dog brings hope and inspires awe

It’s amazing that a dog walks on its two back legs. How could it do that? In my opinion, this is just an interesting thing. I just wander how the dog walks on only two legs, and why it wants to do that. Maybe is that seeing people walking on two legs, but doesn’t it know that it is a dog? Actually, I haven’t find other ways to walk for such dogs.

Another thing I’m thinking about is Faith’s owner, Jude Stringfellow. She never abandoned Faith, and even gave up her job as a teacher. From the news, she said that “I want people to understand that you can be imperfect physically and still be perfect through your soul, through your spirit.” What a good words it is! I agree with that. One’s appearance is not as important as every body think, moreover, the most important is the beauty of one’s mind. In my view, Faith didn’t know about that, and it just try how to move with her body.

I have been so busy this week, and I think next week I will be busy too. Because it's the 5th week in the semester, some subjects are going to have tests. For example, there was a Physics quiz this Tuesday, a Calculate test this Wednesday and a Logic Design test this Thursday. I have tried hard to go to bed early, but actually it's difficult. Especially on Monday and Tuesday night, for the Calculate test. Because I didn't follow the teacher's pace to do the homework day by day, most of us just prepare for it before there is a test. I know that this kind of situation is not the first time since I started my freshman life.

There are still many tests waiting for me next week. On Tuesday, there will be a Physics midterm and an English test. Thanks god, there will be no class on next Friday, or we will have one more test of Chinese. I think that almost every test holded at the closely time is so hard. Besides the school work, I still want to find some books to read, so I hope I could have more free time to do something I want.

Tonight is Friday, my Mon, my sister and I go out to have dinner. (My Dad have flyed to the Philippines for work this Wednesday.) Because I said that I'd like to eat " la mian" (a kine of Japanese noodles or called "hand-pulled noodles." )  so we went out for dinner. The La mian shop is near the night market, as a result we strolled for a while. Suddenly, it happened to rain but not so heavily. And we have only one umbrella. However, we bought another umbrella in the night market, and walked home. Because my home is near the night market, it's convenient for us.

This weekend, I'll study my Physics hard, because I don't want to fail in the exam.
